Gentle Running and Living

Be gentle

to yourself

and others!

“Life is hard enough to add extra suffering to it”. We propose here a way to build a stronger, healthier and happier self through gentle running. Then, this “ascetic hedonism” can be translated into several aspects of life, to humbly contribute to a better world.

How do you see living in general and running in particular?

Like this?

Humans have 2 motion gaits: Walking and Running.

Walking is a pendulum gait in which one leg stays behind while the other leg is lifted and swings forward to land in front of the Center of Mass.

Running is a dynamic gait in which the forward foot touches the ground below the Center of Mass to allow for shock absorption, energy storage and spring effect.

Sadly, nowadays, most “runners” are using a “third gait” which is a combination of walking and jumping, that I call Wumping.

This Wumping gait is totally unnatural, inefficient and destructive. And it is painful to watch for a runner with a past of multiple injuries like me.

So this site is to help my fellow humans to re-discover Natural Running, and thus to achieve better efficiency and, more importantly, to have less injuries.

Now go to the Introduction page!

Quit Wumping! Start Running !

Or like that?

If yes, you think that suffering is the obligatory path to pleasure and you may not be ready to appreciate this site.

If yes, you enjoy life and running like little children do and you think that expiation is bullshit. You have the Tarahumara Spirit and there is a good chance that you really enjoy this site.
