Be gentle

to yourself

and others!

“Life is hard enough to add extra suffering to it”. We propose here a way to build a stronger, healthier and happier self through gentle running. Then, this “ascetic hedonism” can be translated into several aspects of life, to humbly contribute to a better world.

Core Strengthening using Pilates

Pilates focuses mainly on inner muscles of the core. Those muscles are especially important for long-distance runners to maintain stability and efficiency in runs that last from 2 to 10 hours or more.

Here are my 3 favorite Youtube tutorials for Core strengthening, that I use to treat and prevent pubalgia, back pain and all sorts of weaknesses around the hips, pelvis and lower back.

These exercises are especially important to tone some parts of the muscles and fascia that may be too weak for long runs. Here are a selection of pictures showing these weak links (such as the psoas, the transversus, insertions on the pubic crest, etc)

And finally, another set of 3 for the fun…
